Galena/Dubuque overnite cruise/lunch/shopping/dinner/casino, Sept. 11, 2021
We did this two years ago and it was real fun and well attended. We had about 12 cars and 30 peeps.

Galena/Dubuque overnite cruise/lunch/shopping/dinner/casino

If we cant get rooms there we can try another place.
We honestly need to get a good assessment on the interest early on for this to be successful.
if we do not get sufficient interest, it will be cancelled so sign up and make plans to go. Committ !
If the weather turns out to be iffy, I plan on still going and taking my daily driver.
Cruise To Galena/Dubuque
Sept. 11 th' Saturday morning 9:00 sharp
Breakfast location chosen for the route there.
730 Lynford, Rockford, Il
Right off the State St exit at Cracker Barrel in Rockford at 10:00
On the road again by 11:00
Arrival Galena at 12:30
Lunch location will be an establishment in Galena, probably of your choice. It will be hard to keep people together for lunch and dinner I figure but that could change once we get there.
Shopping/Sightseeing on your own before and after lunch.
Dubuque also has the river museum and aquarium. Or you can take a river cruise. Or you can book a reservation for Horseback Riding at Shenandoah Stables.
Then on to Dubuque which is 20 minutes down Route 20 further West
Hotel will Be Best Western Plus INN, in Dubuque, Iowa
It has the largest parking lot and compares in quality to the others in town for quality without going crazy on prices.
There are some better with No parking and many that are worse.
2019 years rooms were reaasonably priced . I will update this week when I check on rates and availability. It is cheaper to book on there Internet then calling them !! If you wait, you will pay double that and may in all liklihood NOT be able to get a room.

It is closer to Dubuque then Galena
Then off to the Diamond Jo Casino located at 301 Bell St Dubuque, Iowa
If you don't want to go to the casino, Dubuque has movie theatres and night clubs as well.
Leave time for the Cruise will be ;
9:00 A.M. sharp
1st meet point will be
Randall Road Shell Station just 1/2 mile North of the Northwest Tollway
2nd pick up point will be the Belvidere Oasis at 9:30
After we get there participants will have all afternoon to walk around Galena and do some shopping or check out some sight seeing at some historic places like General Grants Home ect.
Return trip home will be Sunday after breakfast for those who want to travel with the group back.
Sunday Breakfast location to be determined later . I would like to do the Golden Hen on Main Street or the Hotel Restaurant called Woodlands at Eagle Inn Hotel in the Territory for Breakfast if we can. last time however, peeps just grabbed the free Bfast in the Hotel which is okay too.
If necessary we could divide the return trip into two groups early risers and late risers.
The Route there and back will be the Northwest tollway to Route 20 all the way in.
I hear there is a state trooper who is BIG on front Plates, so you may want to get something temporary rigged up for this trip .
