Thanks for the info, i was considering a stall convertor but I'm running a supercharger with a cam and headers, I was told by my tuner not to go over 2800 stall...what do you think?

I have A couple of Questions for those that have installed torque converters....
How long ago did you install your converter?
Did you have the trans tuned?
            Who did Tune?

You have to get it tuned.

I have had my 3600 in for just under a year at this point. I initially had my transmission tuned by a local tuner(not mentioning any names), and I HATED it, to the point I was thinking of pulling the converter out. but I instead decided I would get HP Tuners, and learn how to tune these transmissions myself. So that is what I did, and I could not be any happier with the transmission now! If you want me to take a look at your tune, I would be glad to do so. If you have your HPT file, or if you want to meet up at some point, I can read it out.

I don't have the Camaros unlocked in my tuner, I only have used the credits for my car, as well as a friends, but I can read yours out and let you know if I see anything I would change.

Not according to everyone. I have recently been told differently. This is why I am trying to explore all experiences and opinions.

If I swapped in a 3600 stall into my car I would have to get it tuned, we all would. Might be able to avoid a tune for a very small upgraded converter. With 4th gen the shift points would be all wrong with a stock tune after swapping in a converter.

This is news to me but supposedly On the 5th gen Per Libertyville Chevrolet the trans will learn itself to the converter and adjust itself over a couple of weeks.
Has anyone installed converter and not had tune done and experienced this?

I didn't have my trans retuned after the converter was installed. It was previously tuned, so not stock, but wasnt tuned after the converter install. I haven't had any issues.

Hey G here are some threads from Camaro5 regarding tuning the A6.

Here is a good read, at least the first 3/4 of it.

And here is another who is having issues with a A6 tune.

I hope this helps you out G.

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

My trans is tuned for the converter. I don't see how you could run a higher stall and not have to change shift points. I couldn't be happier with my Speed Inc. tune on my A6. Same trans in the Camaro.
