  • Oil Cooler Leak ?

While working on my car noticed two drops of oil dangling off the bottom of the oil cooler tubular casing which sits next to oil filter, cant tell if its the filter from the edge closest to the cooler or the gasket on the cooler itself. Need to get it up in the air to diagnose. Cant do now, have WOW next week so the cars going nowhere for repairs but after WOW I will take it in and have it checked out and report back to you.

Just checked camaro 5, they have a few similar problems with the gasket reported on the oil cooler. They have a picture there also looked just identical to my situation so pretty sure now its the oil cooler gasket. easy peasy to repair according to whats being reported there. A known gasket problem for awhile now i guess.

Yeah, I've read a few of those... but also read that it can be porosity in the block at the rear main seal... hopefully it's not that.

well i caught it early cause i keep a clean machine, LOL but when I saw the two drops my heart skipped a few beats I think. No biggie either way its covered under warranty and fixable in a day at a decent dealer.

Take it in to the dealer. It will also help get rid of some of the left over gas you need to burn. I'm pretty sure they will accommodate you on getting it done in time.

I think that was you talking about burning 3/4 a tank.

Just put a Harley Davidson sticker on the side, people will understand.

that's funny, REALLY, cause when I was a teenager use to work on the Harleys all the time getting them ready for the Shriners conventions and you are so right! but I still think there is nothing like a Harley.

Make sure the dealer doesn't scratch anything.
