The effects will be minimized/nullified if you put on another cold air intake. The increase in airflow will make up for the placement of the IAT sensor.

I'm interested in trying this out, but probably not till next season. And by then my LLT will have headers, high flow cats, and DR's. So I probably wouldn't notice the difference, but every little bit helps.
