  • New Wheel Purchase imminent... Finish options??

I decided to get Cor Brava 20" 3 piece wheels to go with the Nitto Invos I got from Ulises (Camaro SS). The standard finishing options are Chrome or Gloss Black lip, with choice of center finish: Chrome, Gloss Black, Matte Black, Brushed, Brushed/Gloss Black two-tone, Gunmetal Gray. Inner hoops are choice of raw aluminum, matte black, or gloss black.

I have 4 different finishing options in mind (all with an addition charge cause of the RTJ):

    1) Gloss Black lip, Brushed/RJT two-tone center, gloss black Inner hoops.

    2) RJT Lip, Brushed/Gloss Black two-tone center, gloss black Inner hoops.

    3) RJT Lip, Matte Black center, Matte Black Inner hoop.

    4) Gloss Black lip, Gloss Black/RTJ two-tone center, gloss black Inner hoops

I'm still trying to decide... what do you think.

Nice choice in wheels. Where did you purchase them from? I think option 1 seems like it would go best with your car. You should see if Tony could Photoshop it for you.

I got them from nine ball on camaro5. I reached out to him to inquire about these wheels and he just got special pricing for them.

I know it would cost more, but could you do option 1 with center of RJT/champaign color similar to your stripes? (instead of RJT/ brushed) If not then I'd vote option 1 anyway.

This does sound like a sweet option. Maybe since it is all of the same surface, they won't charge as much for a second color. I'm thinking Champaigne on the outside spoke, and RJT on the inside spoke.

My other idea to bring champaigne into it was to have the Cor lettering and Logo in Champaigne on the center cap. There's no extra charge for that lettering, but it may be sort of hard to see champaigne on brushed.

Color/finish choices are all subjective, so I'll stay away from that.

I will advise you that no matter what colors you choose, ask 9ball about powder coating options over paint.

There have been all kinds of issues with paint chipping off wheels....hate to see those beautiful wheels all chipped up!

yeah, i was thinking champaign on the face of the spokes, RJT on the edges.. might also consider brushed outside hoop/black inner.

oh, and since it's not my money I'm spending, have you thought about brembo upgrade? If you decided not to add champaign to the rims, you could have pete do up some brembos in champaign, with RJT lettering!

choosing the finish has proven to be even more difficult than it was choosing the wheel.

I have narrowed it down to two options, neither of which are above.

Option a) RJT/brushed two toned centers, brushed lip, raw aluminum inner hoops, and on the center cap a champagne ring with the Cor lettering and logo in champagne too.

Option b) champagne/brushed two toned centers, brushed lip, raw aluminum inner hoops, and on the center cap a champagne ring with the Cor lettering and logo just left brushed like the rest of the center cap.

I think option B would be cleaner, though wonder if the inner hoop would look better in brushed or flat black rather than straight aluminum.... but either way, the centers of option b will look better, i think.

Yeah im like how the champagne will tie into the rest of the car and keep everything looking clean.

I finally made my purchase! Here's what I finally went with:

                          Champaigne/brushed Centers
                          Chrome Lip
                          Clearcoated raw aluminum inner hoop
Brushed Center caps with the Cor lettering and logo indented with no color

I decided not to do a brushed lip because of the extra cost involved, and the hardware would still be chrome if I paid extra from the brushed lip. I think the small amount of chrome will actually enhance the apperance, even though I'm not crazy about chrome.

Here is a photo shop rendering of what will be painted (The center cap will be different though)

I can't wait for them to come !! It'll be mid April before theough actually come though
