  • Winter tires

Looking to get winter tires as I daily drive my SS. Any suggestions for brands and where to get for a good price? Also I assume getting all four is best instead of just the rear two?

Blizzaks hands down. It is better to do all 4 wheels if you can.

I have Scorpions on my Camaro. I absolutely love them. I really have to get on her to break the tires. I guess unless you have someone that has used both, my experience is just that, mine. From what I gather, they are both equally much better than stock or all season. Sometimes you can go to club sites and find people selling them cheap with little miles on them, plus the wheels. I got mine from a guy I worked with that sold his car after one season. I got 4 20" tires and wheels with about 2K miles on them for $800. Good luck.

The Blizzak snow tire is the best snow tire available hands down. Other snows do well including the Pirellis but nothing is better than a Blizzak. Every time someone tests their new tire against a Blizzak. The Blizzak they use is always last years older model it's never the current Blizzak model against the current Michelin or whatever model. Why? Cause they would Loose. the Blizzak has patented multicellular compound that they continue to improve every year and everyone else always follows after the fact.
Snow tires are made to order they are not produced all year. The dealers place order by April 1st the tires are built to orders and that's it. They stop building them for the year. So it's never a good idea to wait to purchase snows late in the year. Otherwise you might not find any in your size or the options may be very limited. The best ones usually sell out first.

I have had my Blizzaks for four seasons now, and they are great.

Gman set me up with a pair of 20" Blizzak LM-32's I believe 245's all around, and they make a huge difference, I have no extra added wieght in trunk and the past 2 snow storms we had I had yet to spin out or loose any control, and not to mention I have yet to use traction control or stabilitrak during those days.
