  • Track Days

I was looking at signing up on the lapsincorporated.com website for the 5 days at the ABCC TRACK.

Have you guys ever run any of these events? Would anyone be interested?

it looks like you get 5 full days spaced throughout the summer months, they're all on a Monday for $1300. At $260 per all day sounds reasonable. ??

I have run with MFBA, MVP, Cadillac, AMS, and in March HOD... The price is about normal for ABCC, but that also depends on the track configuration as to if it's a reasonable price.
Racing is my life, everything else is just minor details.

And I will be running with NASA this year as well... And might pick up with the Shelby club & maybe LAPS... If I have time... Each track group is different and has pluses and minuses... Do you have any track experience?

        Hi Bubbles

Sounds like you have lots of experience. I have limited autox experience. Had a chance to run the exotics racing track in Vegas. Ran the track in a z06, 997, and GTR, but I have a lot to learn. The experienced instructors were running a the track in about 54.5 seconds. My best time was 58.34. Maybe we will meet up at an event some time.

I thought it was a good deal because it is for the full 3.4 mile track configuration at the ABCC + all the track days are on Monday, my day off. I have to work Saturday's.

i would start with purchasing one event to see if you like it and it is for you before commiting to a $1300 package... i know that HOD has ABCC full course on March 28 (friday) and they run a tight ship. perhaps try that one first, also try the MFBA Road America event in May, but be sure before you go to ANY HPDE your car (brakes, fluids, and alignment) are ready... stock stuff wont really cut it on a road course. HPDE is very different from autocross. if you like i can guide you in track prep.

I'm really interested in your track prep recommendations, Bubbles! I'm giving ABCC a go this summer and I'm a noob at this. All I've done is replace the stock brake fluid with Motul 660. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Might be a good topic to start fresh and sticky even.. Thanks in advance!

I can do that for you, and that's a fabulous idea! But I also sight that track prep is as individual as our cars. Budget, driving style, and current vehicle modifications will dictate what prep should and could be. Tell me about your car! What modifications (including show stuff, LEDs, trim and body and wheels and tires) have you done?

I ran with Laps last year. It was a blast. I plan on doing at least one event this year.
When do you plan on going ? I am hoping to hit Gingerman also

Are you a member of Camaro5 ? If so go to the track area in the forum. T-bone just wrote an awesome post about track day stuff. i ahve done 2 events, so I'm still very green also. T-bone was at both places with me last year and what a help he was. I'm Zeus95 on Camaro5 as well.
Also look in the great lakes area for the Gingerman event. Hopefully we can run Laps on the same day. Hit me up

We are trying to get a few guys together to run Autobahn June 30th.
Shawn at Laps Inc. is giving us Camaro guys a $50 Discount. I just got some time freed up at work. Anyone interested ?
