I am thinking of heading down with a few buddy's. Several diferent cars in our little group, mustang, challenger and a Jeep SRT8. Anyone else planning on going to J-town Friday night ? Any pointers for this track ? This will be my first time.

Make sure to wear full length pants, bring a helmet, and from what I heard from my buddy that went with an srt8 a few weeks ago... they might get on you about a fire coat too.

As far as the racing goes, are you a M6 or auto?

Helmet should be good. I personally have not been to this track for racing. But i know they follow the NHRA rule book to the "T".

As far as tips for racing... Dont do a burnout if you are on street tires, generally just a quick peel out as you pull up to the line to clean them off does well.

For me, the general sweet spot to launch was between 2100-2400 rpm - All depends on track prep. But the best way to get a decent 60ft is to ride the clutch out. do NOT side step the clutch on the launch. just gradually let the gas out as you gradually roll into the gas would net you a decent 60ft. But dont get fustrated, it will take practice.

I wish i could come. Fridays are my long day of work. So I wouldnt be able to make it.

I am hoping for a C5G track day soon haha even though the camaro is out for the count lol. I can bring my wife's SRT8 jeep.

Laps Inc is doing a track day OCT 14th at Autobahn in Joliet.
I have a mod putting it on here today, hopefully. We got special pricing and all.
My buddy is suppose to be bringing his SRT 8 as well. So far I have about 4 buddies going.
Bring the wifes ride on Oct 14th

Yeah keep us in the loop. I always post up whenever i head to the track. Its probably going to be a little more frequent too because of weather getting cooler.
