  • GLD on Labor Day-Monday-9/2

Seemed like there was some interest for this. So I thought I would start a thread for it.

Labor Day Test & Tune @ Great Lakes Dragaway - September 2nd

    From 9am - dusk

They are holding a big event the whole weekend before, so usually there is a good amount of prep left on the track earlier in the morning.

I plan on leaving the Schaumburg area around 8:00am to get there just as the gates open.

    Who is in?

*SYCK SS -> with Jeep SRT8
    *Bubbles (maybe)
    *Gorgeous ss (maybe)
    *Tonyo (maybe)
    *SCOTCH MAN

Byron schedule has been bad this year. In September, there's Test & Tune on the 28th (Listed as Chicagoland Mustang Day, could be fun to go at them) and the 29th is also Test & Tune...

Is Joliet a PITA and not on the radar? Never hear of anyone going there.

Their tech in is much more picky. And they require a fire jacket to. They will not flex from NHRA rules. Makes it difficult for most to run.

Fire jacket for a 12+ second car? Really?

Being an NHRA track, they follow every rule to the "T"... my camaro wouldn't even pass inspection :-/ but a jacket is expensive.

I have a bunch of buddies that visit the track frequently to watch though

I didn't think they cared about a jacket until you were more modded or any car with FI. I thought light bolt ons and OE cars were fine there

                          That's a bit excessive.
