I drove the vette last Monday. Just left it in sport mode and didn't do any of my own shifting. 3 of the 6 sessions I had an instructor with me. It was a lot to watch the road and listen to their teachings, so I didn't play with the paddles. The first run we did follow the leader at a slower pace, so no benefit to paddles. The 2 free runs I had I focused on mastering the line and trying to not clog up the road (oh and not go flying off the track like a few others, one boxster challenged a tire wall and lost badly).

If there's any opportunity to ride with an instructor driving, take it. I rode one session and was amazed with how the guy could handle the car. I could barely walk straight after that session was over.

I had Pete, Jeff and Tim with MVP. I don't have their last names. All were great. Tim is who drove me around the track until I was dizzy.

He was funny. Kept yelling at me why are you turning right, the track is going the other way.

He keeps on me to brake way later and get on the gas way earlier.... He isn't too concerned with my lines anymore... Just getting me way more aggressive

priz, have you rewired the paddles so that pull-right is upshift? Did that to mine. So much easier to qork.

In mine, each side has a pull - and a push + that upshift and diwnshift. You can reverse the two outer wires on the right shifter and make it F1 style.

no haven't rewired them, I like having them on both sides. On my drive home from the dealer I was hitting the right side bottom tap thinking I'm upshifting and next thing I know I'm at redline and have a big X on the screen.

That's why i rewired mine. Tried xBox shifting it and got a high rev.
