GLD Saturday 3/30

i'm a rookie on this , what equipment do you need to run, i e helmet , roll bars .ect...
never been down the track so i don't know if mine is set up for track saftey

Was just going to ask... I'm used to running at 41.. or no limit or whatever it's called now, where they don't even care if you have a helmet.

How is GLD on rules and regs? Might need to pick up a new helmet if they're picky.

I have been racing with the same helmet for 7 years. Every time i go there they say, this one is old your gonna need a new one. and they let me run. Unless they change this year, you should be good just as long as you have a helmet.

as far as roll bars or cages you dont have to worry about that. Unless you are running deep in the 10's they wont say anything.

how about drive shaft loop?

Whats that??? lol Pretty much same thing there. If you run deep into the 10's they might start looking for that. But other than that you got nothing to worry about.

No joke i will pull up and they ask if i have a helmet, sometimes want me to pop my hood and thats it.

i would say helmet of any kinds, Pants, and shoes(no flip flops) and you will be good to go.

They have bothered me about a loop before but always let me go. It's required under 12.99 or if you have slicks. I think they ask me because I have drag tires.

I went 6 or 7 times last year and it was never brought up for me.

They do usually do the "this is what you need, but this time you should be ok"

I went to GLD and Byron a couple times with my blower + all that other crap with a Dot M helmet.

The biggest thing they questioned me on was the Dot M helmet..

Not saying this year will be the same, but they're not Rt. 66 in terms of nit-picking your stuff.

Thankfully, the Vette has a TQ Tube

I think bubbles knows more than I do but on one of the 2 there is actually another part that would act as a drive shaft stopper

are you referencing The black piece here? if so i know i have one. We had to modify mine a little.
