  • GLD next week...

I'm hoping to hit GLD next Tuesday or Wednesday, ideally it would still be in the 50's very low 60's then I might have a shot at beating my 13.15 ET.

So you have a LS3 + twins, what size turbos are they? What power do you put out?

I have some ideas on how to run 13.doh in my car if the weather is still there.

yup Ls3 with twin garrett gt42's. They were off a friends old project car. But between 8-9 lbs I put down 635hp-640ft/lbs. I am saving up for some ball bearing GT35r's as they are smaller so they will spool a lot quicker and level out my torque curve more.

Last time I went to the track I couldn't maintain any traction.

What time do you all plan on going? I can maybe work out my schedule to put me in Waukegan or Zion for work. This way I can get paid for almost half the drive there lol

I usually head out around 4ish to try and beat traffic and run early while the sun is still hitting the track.

well if I dont make it to byron this saturday (doesn't look promising) I will try my hardest to get out to GLD with you guys.

Byron saturday is hosting at least 2 track days so it will probably be busy if the weather holds off.

I'd probably do the same though I'd like cooler weather.

I'm kinda dumb on turbo designations, are those twin 67's? I crew for a buddy running twin 76's, best of 7.40@195.

They are older, but they are right around 72mm. Due to the larger diameters it takes a little bit longer to spool but provides a little more power in mid/top end range.

The turbos i want will be somewhere between 62-67mm. I am only running 8-9 lbs of boost for now so a bigger turbo isn't necessary. I love turbos and their concepts so any questions let me know.

I think you can get 11.9x on OEM tires.. I did with a 2.008 60' and little seat time with the blower... Just 28-29PSI in the rear, 40 in the front and just enough clutch out from 2900-3100 to bite -- ride the clutch past the tree and roll in to the throttle. You've got more than me, so you can make up a little more on the other side of the track..

So twin 72mm T4 small housing turbos... good stuff. I used to have a single 88mm turbo combo in my '98 Formula (9.44@144 1.35 short time), 10.00@139 on pump gas...

Yup exactly. very nice setup and times. I was debating on a large single or smaller twins. It helped that I already had the turbos in my possession so that was a big factor. You planning on boosting Sherman at all?

And Wiki did you have any problems with traction in 2nd and 3rd??? My first goal is to nail the 2.0xx 60ft, I know I can pull it off, buy I'm also losing a lot of time from spinning in the top of my gears. So I was curious on if you experienced that as well.
