    I think for $44,470 I would prefer driving a Camaro SS.

    I think the cafe standards play a roll in this pricing a bit. With all the V8 models GM is offering they have to sell a lot of small economy cars to make up for it. If the car was offered below $40k, they would sell a boat load of them.

    Just my .02 worth.

    I agree though, for $44k, I personally would go Camaro or Vette. But if I needed 4 doors, this would be my choice for sure.

      That's before the gas guzzler tax. Its one thing to price it on expectations of low volume, its another to price it way out of your brand's range. Outside of a vette or the top tier camaros, no one is shopping a chevy car at nearly $45k. I don't see this vehicle having too much success, but it seems that is chevy's plan anyway.

          Someone said this on C5 and to me it makes sense. The chevy SS is like a step up from the impala 2LTZ. just to get into a 2LTZ is 37k. then add in a few features and your at the 40k mark. They couldn't sell the SS for less
