It was most likely random residue burning off of the outside of the unit. This is where that "new turbo smell" comes from.

Its actually from the exhaust wrap. To apply it you soak it in water first. and then spray it with a silicone spray. Final process is to keep it running up to at least 400degree to make sure it seals correct....

But as promised, we did get her on the dyno tonight...

best pull was just at 7.5psi making 592whp and 677tq - look at log and timing was 9.5-10.5 degress and AFR of 10.5-10.8... NO KNOCK ;-) shes got more in her for sure!

Going to be putting her back on the dyno tomorrow with the revisions. Wish us luck! here is a quick teaser...

600 and 700 at the wheels would be very very nice and seem achievable since your only at 7.5psi.

My goal with my car is going to be a 10.xx car with less than 450rwhp. Already got some of the parts to get me there.

yeah, i can get over 700whp on 10psi with race gas easily. Should be good for mid 10's.

Ya. Not doing much on the Camaro this winter. Just did new slotted and drilled rotors. It will be a long 4 months.

                      Jim,

You and I should be a good matchup next season after I install my cold air intake and kooks headers. Look forward to lining up next year!

You created the devil!! Lol jk. Congrats on the Jeep and those numbers, I can't wait to hit 10s, hopefully by the end of the 2014 season it'll happen.

Traction is key, and I'd say decent cam and you're pretty close.

Traction shouldn't be a problem, I should be able to 1.6 60ft all day with good prep. Cam and stall should net me 10s
