i dont want to jinx it. But the my mom told me the last time she talked to the owners of the museum, they stated they would love to be able to give this car back to the family. But only to someone that would appreciate for what it is.

But this was like 15 years ago so we will see if they feel the same way. I would be honored to be able to show that off for my G-pa

The Phaze 2 looks similar to Speed Racer's Mach 5. Paint it white and throw an M on the hood and it would be a parade favorite.

Very cool. I have that custom '51 Merc so I hang out on the HAMB/ The Jalopy Journal. I did a search and his name comes up in 7-8 threads on there, you should register there and poke around. Sounds like he had a shop in Palatine.

Yeah from the poking around I did he built a lot of cars. Some of them feature custom quad headlights, which was a cool mod that folks did in the 60's. One build had canted quads which is the sickest. Hope you drive his old shop and snap a few pics.

I have Learned a ton from those guys. He had 2 shops. One that was in Palatine that has now been leveled and turned into a grass lot, then one that burned down that actually had 8 customers cars in it and that's what ended his career.

I was able to send Daryl starbird an email and his wife got back to me. They will be contacting me next week with a "bunch" of info they said. So I am excited to hear what they have to say. Really appreciate it john.
