  • Camaro Photo shoot: FEELER

I saw that Surveyorange posted something up for Synergy green cars group photo and it got me wondering if other members would be interested in a photo shoot.

I was thinking of hiring a professional photographer and having them take pictures of your car that you can post up in your garage, man cave, dinning room, build threads, etc. We could even think of having a calendar made of each of the cars we shoot.

How many would be interested in something like this? We will need to work out pricing so it can be affordable for our members to purchase wallet size pics and life size pics for those extreme members.

    Just a thought.

Alex, definately interested if I'm able to attend.

This is not really related, but could be. I had thought and previously talked to a couple of people in the club about doing a C5G calendar. My thought was that it would NOT to be a contest and 12 cars picked, but anyone that wanted to participate, submit the best photo they have of their car and all cars would be incorporated into the calendar. If the person preferred a month, like when their birthday occured, their picture could be displayed on that months layout. This was something I was going to pursue but don't have time for right now. I would be willing to help out if this is something we want to pull together.

This post made me think of this so thought I would throw it out there.

We have a few people with decent cameras, so, no real need to spend on a pro.

Having a pro take the photos is the only reason I would come out for this. If I want to just take a photo, I'll use my Nikon. Pros add value - amateurs don't.

Definitely a good point - Anyone can take a picture, but with cars, there is actually particular way to take pictures that follow lines etc... also after all is said and done, editing to really bring out color and reflections etc..

Post-processing these days is way overdone. Fake HDR irritates.

Its a cool idea. And it does not take a "PRO" just someone that understands composition. As for editing, HDR is way over done, but to give the ultra-realistic feel to the photos though, they are saturated past what the camera captures to give them that "pop."

To truly get the most of car photography, you really need studio lights to get the "pro" look for static shots. Also LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION!! Also needs time and planning.

Thanks cflaws for the kind words, but I'm still learning and experimenting. Sometimes I get an awesome shot, but one awesome shot is accompanied by a good amount of crap photos.
