  • What an experience!!

I have recently gotten the "bug" when it comes to road racing, due to the fact that Road America is in my extended back yard. I thought I would customize my car more for show, but after some touring laps that Midwest F-Body hosted, I was hooked. After posting back and forth with some members that are on this site as well as other sites(FIGRRL, HumanWiki, T-Bone). Thanks for your real world advice. I also followed their replies on who to go to get this all installed. I decided to give Garrett at Deerfield Tire a call and found out an estimate for the following.

    Pfadt Race Engineering Differential Bushings
BMR Fabrication Rear Upper Control Arm Bushing Kit, Inner
BMR Fabrication Rear Cradle Bushing Kit, Full Bushing, Pro Version
BMR Fabrication Front Suspension Bushing Kit
Pfadt Race Engineering Adjustable Sway Bar - Sport
Pfadt Race Engineering Rear Arm Package
Pfadt Race Engineering Sway Bar End Links
    Granatelli Slotted/Dimpled Rotors
    Carbotech Brake pads x10
    Racing Brake Lines
    Motul 600RBF fluid

Garrett said it wouldn't be a problem, and we set up an appointment. I live roughly 1hr and 45 minutes from Deerfield Tire, and he said this could end up being a day and next morning job. So with that in mind I packed an overnight bag and headed down this past wednesday.
Right off the bat when I arrived at 7:30 am I received a friendly greeting from Todd. Work would soon start that morning, now all I had to do was start the waiting game. While I was waiting I met Adam, the technician who would be doing the work on my car. Friendly guy and was cool with me taking pics during the process. He even came over to get me when he thought it would be a good time for a picture of the process. He was organized from the get go! (first pic)
I was able to listen to conversations between other customers and the staff at Deerfield Tire, as well as what customers were saying while they were waiting for their cars to be finished. It was great to hear the way the customers questions were answered, or how they explained the issues they were having with their autos. Even when customers would not like what they heard the staff would respond with "let me see what I can do" and more often than not the customer would be satisfied and the work would continue. It is refreshing to see this type of attention to customer service especially when that attribute seems to go the way of the fast food model. Speaking of which, that is my only complaint...having a Mcdonald's right next door makes eating fast food way to convienent...
Well the full days work on the camaro was nearing the end so it would be extended to the next day. Jeff drove me over to the Red Roof Inn, and picked me up the next morning on my time table. Talk about doing the extra things to make someone satisfied. The work continued through the morning and into the early afternoon, Adam really was working hard to the oem bushings out, complete the work correctly and effiently.
Garrett had his car there, and my ears are still ringing. Plus I will have to use that side gill idea that he has, looks great in person. Good luck with the fender rehab.
In closing, I had a great experience at Deerfield Tire. The customer service was outstanding and the ride home was great. I can't wait to get this on the track and explore the car's entire new feel. They have earned another repeat customer. Thank you to Garrett and all the guys at Deerfield Tire!!
