  • 'Nuff Lurkin' 2010 RJT 2SS L99 from Cary says "Hi"

First of all, thanks for all the great information I have already gleaned from this site. I have sent in my membership payment via PayPal, so your Treasurer should have that shortly.

The story of my car is somewhat unusual. My older brother (age 68) ordered this 2010 2SS after he found out that he had terminal cancer. He had always wanted a Corvette, but fell in love with the Carmaro when it was reintroduced. He was able to drive it for a little over a year before he became too ill to drive. He was quite the talk of our small, Iowa hometown. Toward the end, I was able to give him rides on his better days, which always perked him up. After he passed away, the Camaro came to me through his estate. Hell of a way to get such a fine machine, but it reminds me of him every time I take her out of the garage.

Needless to say, because he was an old farmer, he sometimes forgot he was driving a sports car rather than a pickup. I've had some door dents and lower fender scrapes repaired and had to replace the lower air dam (kudos to Bill Olsen at Cary Auto Body. He did a super job matching the RJT Paint).

The car is pretty much stock at this point, except for a K&N CAI installed last fall. Will be putting a CAT-back exhaust system on this spring as soon as the weather clears. Leaning toward a Borla ATAK for the moment (I can work around any drone with the AFM).

Looking forward to meeting everyone at one of the first events (As the snow keeps piling up today).

                        Hey BugDoc

Welcome from one RJT man to another. Lots of great info in the club and events that you can be part of. Heck we're going to GLD for drag racing on 3/30. Come out and run or watch and cheer us on.

Sorry about the way you got the car but I'll bet your brother is happy it is in good hands.

Welcome to the club! First off, sorry about your loss. It's awesome that you have something cool to remember your brother by. I'm sure it's means a lot to you.

Looking forward to meeting you in the near future. I have the Borla Atak system with Borla shorty headers and love it! You will definately want to get a tune and disable the AFM.

Thanks for all the welcome messages!

Thanks for all the kind words in your replies. I am planning to attend the Rockford cruise (Westin) and the Crystal Lake coffee/donut event.

Till then, had to get my machinery fix out in the driveway!

Welcome aboard. I have to agree with Freddie, unfortunate circumstances on how you got the car (sorry for your loss), but equally cool that you have an awesome car to remember him with.

Definitely if you can, join us for our first Hooters outing. It is always a blast!!
