Hello Everyone, just a quick note to introduce myself. My name is Ken and as stated I live in Des Plaines with my wife Sherry. I presently work for Autowerks in Northbrook doing auto/marine interiors/upholstery. I have been doing auto interiors for over 37 years, owning KNS Upholstery in Des Plaines for over 26 of them.
We bought our 2012 2SS/RS AGM back in late May and love it. As a life long GM buyer I knew a couple of years ago what our new ride would be. I haven't done much to it yet except enjoy it. So far I haven't used the wipers because like many of you I don't take it out when it's raining. I am planning to do a few mods on it this winter. I started by first painting the rear taillight trim rings ashen grey and already have bought the Alpine Perfect Fit dash kit. Alpine 920HD Nav unit with Onstar module and front bumper cam.
As for future plans, as an interior upholstery specialist, when I open it up this winter I plan on covering a few pieces like the console, parking brake, etc in black leather, to match the rest of the interior, along with some extra led lighting and striping
I look forward to meeting some of the C5G members in the future.
