i wish i could go but i will be stuck at work
but since this is a more local group then camaro5, could anyone give me input on what radar to get for the city? V1 or escort 9500?

Personally, I've never really had much need or use for a RADAR detector. There are plenty of situations and circumstances that pretty much negate their value. In the city, it's way to easy to judge your speed based on landmarks and then to hit you with the gun. Also, there are I think a few lights in the area that are speed based cameras as well..

If you want to get one, then that's certainly your right.. Just trying to save you some bucks that you could use for other mods.

There are only a few places in Chicago proper I even see LEOs radaring anyways. I'm sure there are more that I don't see, but usually, I don't have a problem with them, even when I'm over the limit but maintaining control and not being a dick (or zipping around through traffic). Maybe I just get really lucky all the time, but I honestly don't have city cops really pester me with my car. In fact, most wave, thumbs up or (preferred) totally ignore my existence.

IIRC, I think something similar has happened before where certain year/models needed a code update.. Mine hasn't had the issue and I'm a late build 2010. It works with Kim's iPod, my thumbdrive that stays plugged in and the Bluetooth music from my Droid. Are you getting any error codes or is it just not playing it?

On the city police thing.. I see more issues with plates, tint and city stickers than other things..

Hmm... Sadly, I don't know much about the MyLink systems outside of the basic tech. I'm assuming you're using the USB interface to connect to the device... Do either of your devices show a bus connection, even power, when they're plugged in? If you're not getting an error code, it's possible you've got a faulty or shorting (or maybe disconnected) usb cable extension up to the head unit.

Are you talking about the new system they are putting in the 2013's? Try rnikolich9... He has a 2013 with mylink. Maybe he could help?
