I never got a ticket for my tint in Chi-town, but the one I did get in garage was for my Plate not being on the front of the car! As of Jan 1st renewals this is no longer a requirement either, but some how they will say they can give out a ticket for it like the tint law! BS

I have heard the same from people at dealerships on the no front tags for renewals/new starting 1/1/13.

Last reported action was "session sine die" on 1/11/11. That means there is no actual start date yet so its not 100% confirmed but there is a chance.

Actually it signaled the end of the legislative session. I believe that it would have had to be re introduced in the next session 2012's HB4888 is a different bill. There's now a SB1239, but would only apply after the next plate redesign.

I have not gotten a ticket for tints or not having a front plate. I got my tints done for $120, all windows minus windshield, and lifetime warranty. I've been getting tints from him for years, does good quiality work. I live on the northside too. OP let me know if you still want to get your car tinted.

I've gotten pulled over and gotten a warning for no-front plate when I had my TBSS, so I am running the JacFab setup for my Camaro.
