  • Newbie in North CHI.

    Hello C5G,
Traded in my truck 2 weeks ago for a 2011 v6 LLT automatic. This is my first chevy, and so far so good.
A little catch-up, took my camaro to dealership tues. to have it checked out, ticking on driver side of engine, and yes i did the research i know its caused by the D/I, but i could not find the TSB and its always better to be safe than sorry(for FREE), of course all is fine and now i have a copy of the TSB # 07-06-04-025F, if need be i can scan and post later(once i learn how).

Anywho, did first oil and rear Diff change yesterday, went smooth as Molasses. Waiting to do Tranny, need proper procedures & thinking about getting a torque converter($$$).

Oh, Mods, Volant CAI and Flowmaster 40 Series. Both not bad, could be better. And always looking for more bang for the buck. Also, More of a meat & potatos kind a guy, if i got money to spend, im spending it on performance.

Well, this is my first forum joined, hope to learn alot and be able to contribute as well, thank.

Welcome and I'm the same way.. I usually do go before I do show, but that's just me.

We're on the North side as well near Belmont/Western or are you actually up in North Chicago?

Meengineer0128... No we cant stop the ticking, the TSB is just to let us know its normal & so Mech's dont waste money trying to repair, the ticking is caused by the engine bay fuel pump creating high presure for the direct injection. Inital TSB was for Pontiac Solctice now pretty much covers all GM's D/I engines( I believe) up to current model year.

All thanks for the welcome, a little backgroung, I'm actualy in "GREAT LAKES", My wife is stationed here, New to the area, I dont know anything about this place, except bootcamp back in 2001, and i dont know anyone. Go to school on weekends, and have WAY to much time on my hands, and not enough money to ocuppy said time.

LOOKING forward to some meet and greets, and maybe a little beer drinkin MOD and DIY's

Thanks again, Takin the Silver Bullit out for a drive!!!

Welcome. I'm in Lindenhurst..........not too far away

I've noticed most the meets are pretty far down South and of course there are a lot of people IN the city. Good to see some N. suburbs peeps! Maybe we can convince people to have more meets up here haha
