I went with the axle back for similar reasons to the others. Namely cost vs performance. Didn't seem like the catback was generating noticeable performance to warrant the increased price. I mainly made the switch for the sound.

I have the Borla Axel back kit, it sounds great for me, but it is not built for the GM Body kit and it rattles when it hits the metal trim pieces for the cut outs on the rear part of the body kit.
I will be cutting the tips off this spring and getting the tips built for the factory body kit.
