  • V6 Catback Exhaust

Bought my 2011 2LT 2 weeks ago, am in the Tinley area. I am looking to upgrade with catback exhaust system. Have been looking into Borla, Stainless Works, Magnaflow, etc. Anyone in the area have any upgraded catback exhausts that I could see/hear in person?

    Welcome to the forum!

I'm up north, but, there are a lot of people south. I'm sure they will chime in soon.

I don't know many of the v6 crowd in the area that have catback, a lot of us only have axle back. I am in Minooka and have a flowmaster axle back setup that you're welcome to hear. Only issue is the car isn't coming out of the garage for a couple months. Once spring rolls around get out to some of our meets and I am sure you'll find a few setups to hear.

Welcome! We have a 2SS with a magnaflow cat back exhaust. We love it and it sounds awesome. This exhaust also fills the exhaust holes very well. Even our kids love the rumble we get. They said the original exhaust is too quiet. Ours is garaged for the winter, but I'm sure you could stop by some night to hear it. I'm pretty sure Dave won't mind starting her up. Send me a pm if interested.

Thanks everyone! Definitely excited to join the club. It was an interesting drive home last night in the snow (it's going to be my daily driver), but I have been enjoying the heck out of it so far.

To the 2LT owners with axle-back exhausts, what made you go with axle-back and not cat-back? From personal experience, I would rather go cat-back and try to preserve my original exhaust in case I need it. I learned from experience from my pickup, installed dual exhaust, threw away stock exhaust (took off in one piece too), and then dual exhaust fell apart 6 years later. It would have been nice to have the original to put back on. But since I am new, I am looking for help and suggestions from all you veteran Camaro owners.

                        Thanks again.

if you want just a better sound then the axle-back is your best choice,
but if you want a few more horses then the catback might be better option but the gains a very minimal on this cars to make me spend the extra money. IMO

and now a day every aftermarket exhaust system it's made out of stainless steel (if they aren't stay away from that brand) and they should last a very good amount of time they might even outlast the OEM set up.

I did the axle-back for the lower cost and stashed the stock mufflers in the garage attic.

We have our original in one piece. Dave parks the Camaro over it every night. He installed our magnaflow.
