I'm assuming this is not happening since there is no response?

I tried looking for something else to do in the area so that it isn't just eat lunch and go home, but I am not having much luck. Everything of interest that I know of is across the border in Michigan.

I'm looking forward seeing the club coming south. Near by is a Lakefront and Riverwalk to walk off lunch.

Yeah, that is about all I came up with was walking the lakeshore or riverwalk as well. Didn't know if the group would be interested in walking. Further up in Michigan are wineries and ice cream places, Studebaker museum in South Bend, but none of them are close. About the best I can come up with not too far away is a place that has a big variety of milkshakes in Chesterton, IN.

Ok, after a little more digging, if we go to Chesterton, besides the milkshake place, there is Butler Winery, Hunter's Brewery, and Mission Escape (an escape room place). I can't remember the name of the milkshake place (The Port maybe?), but I know exactly where it is. Good shakes, food is not overly exciting, but we are eating at Quaker anyway. I have never been to any of the other places, so I have no idea how they are. I have never been to an escape room, but was curious about them. Let me know if anybody is interested in any of these things. There is not much time left to get something organized.

So sorry I am going to miss this because I am out of town. Another place to think about if you are going to go into Chesterton is the Indiana Dunes. I lived in Chesterton 2000-2007. Wish I could be there....

Thanks for looking into it! Any of this sounds good. fyi - it looks like the Mission Escape place has availability tomorrow - we just have to schedule at least 2 hours advance. There is a limit of 8 people to a room, and it costs $25 per person. Although I'm not really a drinker, I kind of like the winery idea the best. But I'll do whatever!

Alcohol always works for me so the winery is good, although it says the brewery has wine also. If we do the Mission Escape, I would vote for the funeral home murder over grandpa's candy shop. We would have to pick a time and r.s.v.p. separately since they require payment online. Or we could just try walking in or, possibly r.s.v.p. as soon as we get to Quaker. So meet at Quaker at noon (they should be on Central time I think). And then we can hit the winery, brewery, Mission Escape or whatever combination gets voted for, and possibly end with milkshakes. It would help if everyone would voice a preference. And bring GPS's since there will obviously be no maps, and I do not know where these places are except for the addresses I will have to look up later.

Just 15 min south is County Line Orchard in Hobart Ind.
About 10 min east is Bailly Homestead and Challberg Farm.
