Wow! 56 5th Generation Camaros signed up for the Lake Geneva Cruise. I’m wondering how many prides of panthers that would be. This is going to be a great cruise. But with so many cars, allow me to present a few pointers so we can all get from point A to point B as easily as possible.
Our police escort into Lake Geneva will start at 1:00pm. So we will need to be at the staging area before then. As such, cruise time management is essential this year.
Please show up at Mars Cheese Castle as early as possible, particularly if you plan on doing any shopping. We will need to leave promptly around 10:00 am.
When we arrive at Bushnell Park (our first stop) follow everyone else into the parking lot so everyone can get pictures of all participating cars. If you need a potty break, I’ve confirmed there will be port-o-potties located in the park across the street. If you need to go, you can drive over there after pictures are taken.
When we leave the park, we have a series of 4 traffic lights to get through in Burlington. It’s inevitable that we will get split up. If you have a co-pilot, he or she should pay attention to the directions that will be handed out, on how to get through those intersections. Of course we will wait for everyone after the last light. Simply though, we go straight through the first light, then make a left at the next intersection, turn right at the next light, another right and a left. Straight-Left-Right-Right-Left. I like to think of it as the 5th Gen Tango.
If at all possible, please fill up with fuel before arriving at Mars Cheese Castle. The gas station we normally pull into (our second stop) will not hold 56 cars. If you need gas at that point of the cruise, or have to use the restroom, feel free to pull in, fuel up and use their restroom if needed.
All other vehicles, follow me down the road less than a quarter mile where we will park and wait.
Thank you all for signing up and we look forward to cruising with you on Sunday.
