C5G Heading to MDA Car Show, June 21st, Sat

Would like to see some of our group make it down to Champaign, IL for this, if possible. Some of you attended a few years ago and they would really like to have C5G return. If we can get a group to commit, I'll see about arranging special parking for us. This is the event I took home that huge trophy last year for Best Of Show. The trophies are really nice, if you're into that sort of thing. See attachment for information. Let me know if you plan to attend and I'll add you to the list at the bottom.

What are the times? With it being a 3-hour drive, it kinda matters.

Good question, Tony, I see it's not on the flyer. I confirmed and it's on their website. Registration starts at 9am if you don't pre-register. Judging starts at 12. Awards given out at 3pm. Website is: www.mdabenefitshow.com

im interested, did anyone start a list, and print a pre app form,there are 3 classes to choose from stock 2000 and up, modified 2000 and up and specialty Camaros & firebirds $15.00 pre fee, $20.00 day of show pre reg ends june 15th 2014

I'll add a list to my first post.

Pretty sure you can choose which catagory you want to be placed in. Most of us will go in the Camaro/Firebird Catagory unless you're stock and want to be placed in the Stock 2000-present catagory. I will say that a participant cannot win a "Best Of" trophy and place in another catagory. This keeps one car from taking multiple trophies home. For example: If you win Best Of Show you cannot win a position in another catagory such as Camaro/Firebirds, Stock 2000-Present, etc. Last year, they handed out awards for top 3 places and 5th Gen Camaro's took all of them in the Camaro/Firebird catagory. There was a nice 69 Camaro there that took Hooters Choice.

They do a good job judging and use a point system, don't remember the format. It's a nice show, not too big (last year was 79 participants), good atmosphere, good food, good time for a good cause. I know it's a bit of a drive, but hope some of you will join me there. The bigger the group the better!

theres 3 cats what else do you need, some one in c5g will take BEST so let bringum on down and strut our stuff, tell event cord. to get on the BALL!!! this will be interesting make sure your car is clean with plenty of mods, mine is ready to compete!!!!!!!!!!!!

Is it participant voting or judged voting ?

They have a Hooters Choice Trophy and a Campers Choice. All the category awards are judged by a points system. If I remember correctly, there were 3 judges that had previous judging experience.
