Texas would be about $1,000 for the party, so I have to pass so I can get my muffler delete, CAI, oil catch can, and tune in the spring......and still be about 150hp less than many in the club.

May rethink going to Camaro5Fest this year.

Apparently, for several months now, there's been some dispute with a concrete crushing company that has located next to Royal Purple Raceway. It still has not been resolved but looks like the raceway has experienced concrete dust blowing over onto the Raceway property including the track. I just stumbled onto the post this morning and now has me rethinking whether to go. People have complained at the track about the concrete dust getting on their cars. While nothing has been finalized the Raceway has not cancelled any events for 2014. The NHRA Spring Nationals is the weekend before the CamaroFest and the NHRA event is still on.

I can see the crushing company halting operations for an NHRA event due the size and magnitude of the event. However, CamarFest is nowhere near that magnitude and I can see them not worrying about affecting our event. Maybe I'm being paranoid but I can see it happening. With this being a threat, not sure why the Fest Coordinators didn't find another venue in Texas. This all started back in September. Anyhow, I've included a link to the post which has other links within the post to what's going on. You'll see there's a conflict in that the owner of the Raceway also has a concrete crushing business so it looks as though that's why the Raceway is fighting it. Still, why did the new concrete crushing company move in next to the raceway? Read and decided for yourself...http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=317474

I doubt they're suspending operations for NHRA events. There's also EPA regs on the dust that can be produced by the operation, but what seems to be at issue is the stockpile of unprocessed material. That doesn't seem to have the same regulations, so that's the danger. Given a really good coat of wax, and no rubbing of paint, should be OK

WARNING If you booked at the brand new Holiday Inn Express that was supposed to be open, you are going to have to book elsewhere, it's not looking like it will be open until after the Fest. There's a candlewood suites near it, should be able to get moved over there.
