We should be able to take off by 8:15, so for anyone else that wasn't listed on my post, you can hook up with us somewhere along that route. PM me and I will give you my cell number. This way you can find out where we are at along the path.
I'd skip 90 if you can avoid it. It adds another couple miles, and the toll plaza is right before a dammit, which means it's on the expensive side ($0.55 with iPass). Here's a picture of a "dammit" I am referencing:

(Ok, it's called a Mainline Toll Gantry for Open Road Tolling [MLTG-ORT] - but the toll makes you say "dammit"!)

I suggest maybe taking Higgins (4 lanes - 2/2, but you have to go through West Dundee/Dundee) or Algonquin (2 lanes - 1/1, but no Dundee). Shorter and freer. But... guess it doesn't matter so much, it's only $0.55 - not like I'm towing a trailer and paying the cash rate like I did last weekend. Ugh! BOHICA...lol

But, I digress. I live in Schaumburg near I-90 and 53. Maybe you could put up a map of whatever is the final route so that we can join along the path (though, if I get with it early enough, I'll just meet up in West Chicago - eh, what the hell! )

Radio's charged up and ready to go on channel 5!

I PM'd you my mobile number.

Like I said earlier on, Higgins or 90... Don't care one way or another. We can decide as a group tomorrow.

Yeah... I just moved to Schaumburg from Wheaton over the last two weekends, so I haven't kept up with the forum lately. Moving sucks... lol

Usually I would have read that already. I didn't read the entire thread.

I don't envy you... Moving is absolutely something I try to stay clear of!

You know where we'll be... I can text you my cell number if you don't want to drive back to North and 59, and you can meet up with us by the tollway in Barrington? I can call you when we get to Golf road and let you know where to slide into the Camarovan? Let me know. Thanks.

I love it here, despite it still being in Crook County.

That sounds like a plan. I'll try to aim for the first sync-up spot at North and 59, but if I do not make that spot - expect me at Golf and IL-59. Actually, more precisely at Bode Rd and IL-59 in the parking area for Poplar Creek Trail (Streamwood).

Still have a couple more late nights to get everything unpacked - one of them is tonight, thus the limited motivation to get up. Almost done!

Somewhere on North Ave or Armytrail Road, Glendale Heights / Carol Stream area? I thought we could take 59 to 90 or 62 and then 31 up to 14, but open to the route. I can be anywhere in this area around 8:10 - 8:15. Let me know.

That sounds fine to me as long as there aren't any roads that are still flooded that way,Fox river area? I like my road to be nice and dry.

I hear you... The only place that may be sketchy is when you go up the hill about 3 miles north of Higgins on 31... Always seems to be water running over the road! I know a few members are out that way... Can anyone shed some light on the road conditions?

Maybe we could take Randall Road and do that jog around to get back to 31? Suggestions?

I'm coming in Eastbound on 90. Any Camarovans I can jump in on?

During the work week, I find Randall Road faster than 31 to get into Crystal Lake from I 90. Early on a Saturday morning, they should both be pretty clear. I have not heard of any water issues along 31 because of the Fox river, but water levels could still be rising.

I just went up and down 31 today. No real water problems besides it running down the hills just south of downtown Algonquin. Randall should be dry.

31 doesn't have any flooding issues, however, it does have several areas in Algonquin where water is running out of the hills. Your cars will get quite wet if you use 31 south of Algonquin rd.

Yep I had to drive through there today. I would recommend 59 to 72 to 31 gets you past most of the water and construction BS.
