MORRIS LIONS CLUB FALL CLASSIC - Sunday, October 14th

If you've ever been to a Morris Cruise Night and remember how big it was (750 cars in September), then hold on because this ones even bigger! If you haven't been to a Morris Cruise Night, then you've missed the second biggest outdoor car show / cruise around. Last year, there were 1,100 plus cars at this event! C5G picked up several awards including "Best Club Participation". This show could be one of the last for the outdoor show season, so don't miss out! If it weren't enough, there is also a swap meet and car corral.

WHEN: Sunday, October 14th (Rain date is October 21st)
WHERE: Lyondellbasell Recreation Area
(5 miles East of Morris, on route 6 on Tabler Road)
TIME: Registration is from 7AM to Noon. Awards at 3:30PM. We will
to get there early for a good spot, plus they are giving out dash
plaques to the first 650 cars.
COST: Pre-registration $10 by Sept. 23rd. $15 day of the event.
(I am looking into registering as a club, so do not self register
Until I update this post.)
NOTE: If you just want to come down to the show, there is a $5 per
person charge. Kids under 12 are free.
OTHER: 50/50 Drawing, '68 Mustang raffle, Music, Door Prizes, Food and
more.

MEET LOCATIONS: We will meet up at the Subway in Minooka. 524 Mondamin St. South of I80, corner of HWY5 (Ridge Rd) and 3 (Mondamin). (gml1998) I have never been, but I guess there is a back way in. Registration starts at 7AM and I am told it fills up quick, so we may want to meet at Subway at 6:45 AM and head over.

Karen and I are planning to go.
I think the final meet point Should be the Subway in Minooka, like last year.
Then we can go in the back way and avoid most of the traffic on Route 6.
Also earlier is better,they can start refusing entry when it starts to fill up.

We had 20 members go last year, we should try for 25-30 if we want another trophy, there seem to be a lot of board members missing, JK, oh yea, count us in.

what time is the show just for spectators?

Unless I missed it, the fyler didn't specify spectator times, but I would imagine you would be able to get in around 9AM? Awards are at 3:30, so I think the cars will start to pull out shortly after.

Unless we get members to come back, I'm afraid that we won't have enough to keep the club participation award in our hands. The issues that we have had to deal with has unfortunately hurt our numbers at most all events. I, for one don't yet know if I can make it, Sundays are tough in the fall. If we want to be seen as a club moving in the right direction, we need to get our members back and involved.
