A bumblebee is any member of the bee genus Bombus, in the family Apidae. There are over 250 known species, existing primarily in the Northern Hemisphere although they are common in New Zealand and in the Australian state of Tasmania.

Bumblebees are social insects that are characterised by black and yellow body hairs, often in bands. However, some species have orange or red on their bodies, or may be entirely black.[1] Another obvious (but not unique) characteristic is the soft nature of the hair (long, branched setae), called pile, that covers their entire body, making them appear and feel fuzzy. They are best distinguished from similarly large, fuzzy bees by the form of the female hind leg, which is modified to form a corbicula: a shiny concave surface that is bare, but surrounded by a fringe of hairs used to transport pollen (in similar bees, the hind leg is completely hairy, and pollen grains are wedged into the hairs for transport).

I think a BUMBLEE is a bright yellow camaro with racing stripes. A Bumblebee is a gold camaro (not offered by GM) with appropriate stripes.

for those of us that grew up with Transformers G1 -- Bumblebee is a Yellow VW Bug that later gets remade in to Gold Bug.

                        • So I was looking at my Vacation and Personal time at work last night, seen that I'll still have 2 weeks worth even with taking 24 hours of personal time, plus I can't complain because I'll then be off Thurs., Fri., Sat. and Sun. I'm going to take off so that I can come out to the first Hooter's meet of the year (put in a request for vacation Friday night when I go to work, hopefully will be approved within a week or so). I really want to drive back with the big group, I have not experienced that yet. I'm still thinking about Earlville, but will have to wait until its closer to see if its in the budget for a hotel room, not really wanting to spend $100 for a room I'm just going to sleep in pretty much(looking at staying at the Westin, just to make it easy) and almost all hotels in that area about the same. If someone sees a deal though, please let me know as it would be nice to go down with the group to Earlville.

Dan please change me to going. (If for some reason, my vacation doesn't get approved I'll post back up and PM you.) Thanks.

                            • We should maybe start posting where we will be meeting up with everyone for the cruise.
