Lol. Form over function. Like it! And one more thing. Win on sunday, sell on monday.

    • Getting upgraded suspension tomorrow. It's more for autocross than the strip, but maybe a tiny benefit?

Not at all. In drag racing, you need the front to back weight transfer to help with grip. With stiff suspension, your setup will be fighting to keep the car level, and your tires will be the weak point where they will let out the energy in the form of wheel spin.

Blackhawk, ZXMustang is not totally correct. Upgrading your suspension will help the Camaro for both autoX or drag. What helps for drag is moving to stiffer sub-frame mounts, replacing the toe links and trailing arms to reduce deflection, and differential bushings. This helps keep the tires planted and reduce wheel hop. And some of those same components help with autoX. Coilovers (unless drag coilovers) do nothing for drag.

A while back I asked both Pfadt and Pedders what a good track setup would be for the 5th Gen. Here's what they told me:

As far as parts for a seriously fun street/track Camaro are concerned I would look at these key components:
Sway bars (you've already got that taken care of)
              Coilovers 2010 + Camaro Adjustable Coilovers [1410104] $2,099
              Solid Subframe Mounts
              Trailing Arms
              Front Trailing Arm Sphericals

I should have my suspension completed next week and ready for the track.

              • What are you going to run Front and Rear on the Coilovers?

Is that question for me or Blackhawk? If for him, shouldn't he run it soft up front and stiff in back so the front end rises and weight transfer to the rear?

Ah, yeah.. I spaced.. Just curious what others will be running.. I roll around F18/R14, but for the track, I was doing flip to F10/R18 or something...

We're talking about coilovers, not stock.

                              • Normally I would not, but I had a group of people planed for a meet few weeks ago that got rained out. They called it to a T a week before, so thats why it got me looking already. My hopes are still high though.
