    well you put a towel down between the ice and charger so it wouldnt be that much of a shock i would think.

    we did it with my intake the last trip to Byron without issue

      problem with icing it down is water on the track . Did that on my supercharged Roush and thought i had absorbed all the melted ice water but it was dripping on the track. Back it back out
      Man that really sucks...........but that's the coolest thing I've ever seen

        your concern about fracturing the metal has some weight to it, that can happen to any metal. Aluminum expands and contracts a lot so I would also worry about gaskets, intake, exhaust, ect. Sudden changes can cause a problem. Those are all chances

              Im in if you guys will have me? I have DRs now though so a stock to stock race isnt going to be pretty....not that it was anyway when I didnt have DRs.....LOL. By this track day I will atleast have a tune so I can shift at 7500 like Im supposed to.

                  kidding.. It would be cool with me if you were out.. You were one of the ones that pushed me to run one last time netting my 11s timeslip.

                      I went a few weeks later with my DRs, and I was cutting 1.7 sixtys but because I was getting underway so much faster, I was hitting the limiter on the 1-2 and the 2-3 shift and was only able to get 12.51@111. My mph was down from 114 and I should have been able to get very low 12's. my soft limiter comes on at 6850 and there is no way to change that without a tune. With the 93 octane tune Im getting, I should be able to shift at 7500 with a 7600 limiter. Then I will be able to powershift without hesitation. Plus I will have that nifty cam tune so my car will sound like it has a huge set of cams. Neat stuff with the new 5.0.

                          It's amazing what that 5.0 is doing, considering it's at a 1.2L and now 1.4L displacement disadvantage.. --

                          I'd love to have a cam myself for the sound, but I really don't know about that.. I'm pushing the engine as it is with the blower -- don't need a cam mucking that up.. Especially since I don't have traction as it is.

                          7600 RPMs is just crazy.... You guys can really rev that 302.

                            Yeah, its the DOHC design that helps to be able to rev to the moon. Heres another vid of the tune in place that lets you rev to that.

                              Crazy.... With the released 2013 GT500 specs.. I may end up in one in 2014...


                              then again... with my mods, it's probably just cheaper to ditch the weight, forge the engine and finish up the weak parts..
