I don't think my axles and drag wheels will be here by that time so it's going to be stock tires and axles, so it should be interesting. I am gunning for your time though. ;-)
Glad to hear it.. I'm more than willing to give up my #2 spot to a faster car/better driver.

      • We will see, traction with this setup is my worst enemy.

I have 500+ ft/lbs from 2400 to redline at the tire.. I can only imagine with your TT setup, you've got it worse.

I'm right there with you... Then after the axles, it's the output shaft, the clutch, tranny internals themselves, ring/pinion, etc.. It's a never ending thought process of "will this launch explodiate my driveline."

          • Yeah, sometimes I wish I took the route you did to be able to manage the power better. Jumping from about 300ft/lbs to over 600 ft/lbs in the matter of a couple 100 rpm when they spool makes it more difficult. I should be able to launch decent because the turboes aren't spooled at launch, but the top end of 1st, 2nd, and 3rd always breaks the tires loose.

now I am not that familiar with turbo's or FI at all. But wouldn't a two step boost controller help with that?

                • I am running very large turbos which gives you more top end power. But what that does is take longer for them to build boost up. So depending on temperature my turbos are usually fully spooled between 3500-4000 rpm. That means from 0-3500rpm my car will almost be pushing stock power, but as soon as the turbos spool I have over 600+hp and 600+ft/lbs tq.

A two step allows you to run 2 different amount of boost through different gears but I'm only running 8-9 lbs. So it would be difficult to monitor that in the same way. I do have a boost controller which i will be trying different boost levels to help with traction. But it's hard when you always want to go faster lol

I think the one thing that I said before and maybe was missed was that I PMed Bubbles asking permission to invite the mustang clubs. I was given the OK, so I posted the threads. Thats it.

                      • Mustangs are fine by me. Just more people to hang out with. The track is always busy on a nice day.

It wasn't shine juice, but bug juice. Anyway, when people are always taking pics of your ride, you've got to keep up appearances.

You even asked for permission for something that's not necessary. Its an open test and tune day, you and your mustang girls could show up without our approval with your ugly cars. You might win on the strip, but we win in the parking lot!
