  • 27-29 April, Return trip to Elvis Home ! Memphis Cruise!

    Cruise to memphis-graceland

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Last year was a real fun time ! and a real chance to see some of the history surrounding many of the great Rock & Roll legends.

    last weekend of April, 2012

    April 27. Friday, 2012 Leave time 8:00 A.M.

WERE GOING Back TO SEE THE KING, WELL HIS HOME ANYWAY, and HIS CARS, his airplanes, etc. A CRUISE to Memphis to see Graceland next year at the beginning of the season,. last year it was such an enjoyment that this year I had decided to take several of my extended family members on this trip and invite my C5G buddies again. If you have a fifth gen and want to see what kind of enjoyment full membership has to offer, come join me on this trip. Its a 9 hour drive, get there by dinner, stay overnight at the Heartbreak Hotel, see Graceland on Saturday, Sun Studio tour, Peabody Ducks at the Peabody hotel or the gibson guitar factory tour or the stax records studio tour, dinner at rendezvous rib joint, (World famous), party a little on world famous Beel Street and back to the hotel for some cigars and drinks and laughs about who almost got arrested, (no names please). If Larry comes, someone will have to be assigned to watch him on Beel street.

For those that dont know how popular Graceland is, just listen to XM or Serius radio, people come from all over the world to see this place. They have a radio station that broadcasts on XM and Sirius Radio all day everyday and they always interview people about how far they traveled to see the Kings Home, we will definitely visit this radio station. The Tour can take 3 Hours. With a leave time on Friday at 8:00 a.m. we will get up there by 7:00, with allowing for a few short pit-stops along the way and to pick up other 5th gens. AND YES you can wash your car behind the Hotel with a hose or go to the hand car wash when you first get in town and watch them fight over who is going to get to wash your car.

Friday Nights dinner will be at a local place, dont worry about driving, they come and pick us up in pink limos, LOL

Saturday night dinner would be at Redezvous Rib Joint. No need to worry about parking, your babies will be safe back at the Hotel all parked togethor.

Memphis is the home of R & B and their are some legendary recording studios and attractions in town in addition to Graceland, which we could see Saturday afternoon-evening. i.e Sun Records studio, ect.

Hotel accomodations are right across the street at The Heartbreak Hotel. Rates last year were about 124 .00 for a standard room. I will try and get us a block of rooms next to each other reserved.

The VIP All day Graceland tour pass is $70.00

If we get 15 people we qualify for group rates on tours and rooms.

I will keep you posted as information becomes available.

Bill, We will not be able to make this trip. It was a great time last year and I am sure it will be equally as fun in 2012.

I think we need to have six Camaros minimum and certain to make this a go. So if you are inclined to go sign up. Otherwise we will not get a group discount, nor a preferred time for the tour first thing in the morning which is needed to see the other stuff during the day, and it may not be worth the effort. if we get six fifth gens it should be a fun time and I think I can get some others to tag along as well that don't have fifth gens.

                      Any thoughts?

Hey boys and girls, we need more 5th gens to make this trip a GO. This trip was a great time last year. It should be just as much fun if not more. If you want to see where rock and roll started, this is the trip for you. Its not just about elvis, you get to see Sun Studio where all the great legends started and the legendary Beal street. But if you like Elvis at all. I guarantee you will fall in love with the history of elvis and appreciate the impact he had on Rock and Roll. Its been said that his song Thats all right Mama was the BIG BANG OF ROCK AND ROLL. You really come away with a different feeling after seeing the king's house, his many gold records, ect. Last year I spoke with people who came from all around the world to see elvis's home and sun studio and Beal street on their first trip to America. I really want to start booking hotel rooms this month to guarantee everyone a spot

Don't forget the barbecue! It's the only reason that I went last year. Yes, it's worth the ride.
