Heartbreak Hotel looks like one possible choice a good place to stay, right across the street from Graceland. Rooms look reasonable for a tourist area, about $127.00, unless you want to splurge for an elvis themed Suite, They are costly.
Steve they do tours on Saturday too!, So we could go on a Friday. If we went in April before school lets out, it might not be too busy on a Saturday.Comment

APRIL 28th -29 weekend, Thursday-Friday- or Friday-Saturday, either way we can stay an extra day if necessary or if we want or find something else interesting to look at.
How does the end of April sound to everyone. If we can get 15 cars that would be awesome!Comment

Okay I called graceland and the word is that in late April the crowd is not that bad on a Saturday yet so it should not be a problem to do a tour on a Saturday instead of a Friday, which means we can leave on Friday, get up there for dinner at the barbecue place check into the hotel afterwards and go out for a drink or hang at the hotel, If alot of people go, i may get one of the elvis themed suites and we can hang there. Saturday wake up, do the tour, and I'm looking for something else to do Saturday night if you guys want to stay and come back Sunday, that would be cool. There are some other neat things to see in Memphis that we should be able to work in on Saturday afternoon-evening.
By the way, believe it or not, they host a huge car show on memorial day weekend which we could participate in if we wanted but I think everyone probably has family plans on memorial day weekend and all, just thought it was interesting to mention.Last edited by Lawdog; 11-09-2010, 05:43 PM.Comment

Cruise to memphis-graceland

April 29. Friday, 2011 Leave time 8:00 A.M.
WERE GOING TO SEE THE KING, WELL HIS HOME ANYWAY, and HIS CARS, ect. A CRUISE to Memphis to see Graceland next year at the beginning of the season,. Its a 9 hour drive, We could do it in one day, stay overnight, see Graceland and get back late the next night but it may be more relaxing to stay saturday night and come back Sunday morning. It depends on your schedule for your return trip. So far the consensus is to stay saturday night and return Sunday morn. They have a radio station that broadcasts on XM and Serius Radio all day everyday and they always interview people about how far they traveled to see the Kings Home, It could be some great publicity for the club for those that listen to those stations here on their XM and Serius radios, when they see us roll in and we will definitely visit this radio station. The Tour can take 3 Hours. With a leave time on Friday at 8:00 a.m. we will get up there by 7:00, with allowing for a few short pitstops along the way and to pick up other 5th gens.
The first night we will go to Redevous Rib Joint that TONYNO is crazy about.
Hotel accomodations are right across the street at The Heartbreak Hotel. Rates are about 124.00 for a standard room. I will try and get us a block of rooms next to each other reserved.
The VIP All day Graceland tour pass is $62.00
If we get 15 people we qualify for group rates on tours and rooms.
