  • Cruise to memphis-graceland

    April 29. Friday, 2011 Leave time 8:00 A.M.

Late Breaking News: BIG music festival going on when we will be down there! More info here. Looks to be a Memphis Mardi Gras!

WERE GOING TO SEE THE KING, WELL HIS HOME ANYWAY, and HIS CARS, etc. A CRUISE to Memphis to see Graceland next year at the beginning of the season,. Its a 9 hour drive, We could do it in one day, stay overnight, see Graceland and get back late the next night but it may be more relaxing to stay Saturday night and come back Sunday morning. It depends on your schedule for your return trip. So far the consensus is to stay Saturday night and return Sunday morn. They have a radio station that broadcasts on XM and Sirius Radio all day everyday and they always interview people about how far they traveled to see the Kings Home, It could be some great publicity for the club for those that listen to those stations here on their XM and Sirius radios, when they see us roll in and we will definitely visit this radio station. The Tour can take 3 Hours. With a leave time on Friday at 8:00 a.m. we will get up there by 7:00, with allowing for a few short pit-stops along the way and to pick up other 5th gens.

Saturday night we will go to Redezvous Rib Joint that TONYNO is crazy about.

Memphis is the home of R & B and their are some legendary recording studios and attractions in town in addition to Graceland, which we could see Saturday afternoon-evening. i.e Sun Records studio, ect.

Hotel accomodations are right across the street at The Heartbreak Hotel. Rates are about 124.00 for a standard room. I will try and get us a block of rooms next to each other reserved.

The VIP All day Graceland tour pass is $62.00

If we get 15 people we qualify for group rates on tours and rooms.

I will keep you posted as information becomes available.

We could go on a Thursday-Friday, you would need two days, I think their is a room or garage their also devoted to his cars that he used, could be cool to see! And I want to see the Jungle room where he recorded alot of that stuff after he was done with recording studios. It looks like a straight shot down Rt 57 all the way.

The Rendezvous is a great, Memphis bar-b-q place. The mustard cole slaw is awesome with a plate of ribs.

Im listening it to it for a little bit each day, im a button pusher when im in the car, i get tired of all the aggravating news on the regular stations and the stuff makes me smile. I still always enjoy his music

Let's make this happen. We need something to look forward to during the dreary winter days. We can even post info on Camaro5 in the hopes of meeting people on the way. Tony, this rib place look great!! Count on us..... Camaro Lover +1
