Has anyone EVER seen Lovie have the guts to talk straight like Ditka, he was genuine, listen to this:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yivCgxE31gY]YouTube - ‪Mike Ditka After Loss to Atlanta‬‎[/ame]

Listen to the examples he gives, reminds me of recent years Bears, and notice Singletary's style is similar to Ditka's...

    Here's some GREAT classic Ditka:

Tues. 8/10 Chicago Bears Training Camp Camaro Cruise

So here is our plan, anyone who want to Camaro cruise down this Tuesday 8/10 for Bears Training Camp (starts at 7 PM) at Olivet Nazarene University (1 University Avenue, Bourbonnais, IL 60914), we will be leaving at 5 PM from:

      Evenhouse Ave
      Des Plaines, IL 60018
(where the A marker is on the Google Maps link below, near the Higgins Rd. side)

evenhouse ave., Des Plaines IL 60018 - Google Maps

Which is at the corner of Higgins (Rt. 72) & N. River Rd. (Des Plaines River Rd.)

I will setup Trapster's Caravan feature (Trapster is a smartphone app for iPhone, Android, etc. see http://www.trapster.com/download_phones.php ), PM me for my Trapster account name and mobile # and provide yours -- that way we can keep in touch if separated, also folks that cannot meet-up at the startup point can see when we get closer to their on-ramp to the expressway and join the group in progress on the road.

      Here is the overall route:

      So who's game?

I hope I'll see you guys down there. I'll be rolling in my IBM Traverse in order to get the family down there and not the camaro.

So do they still train in the rain and only stop when lightening starts? Still looking like a 40% chance down there...

Wish I could have drove my camaro down to the camp, route 102 is an awesome road to cruise on. A lot of turns at 55-60mph. Even a few signs with the crooked arrows showing double turns. Bummed that they were only on the main field, seeing camp from the regular practice fields is better. I didn't spot any camaro groups, but I also didn't scour the lots.

After you get over the heat and 294 congestion near Chicago, the cruise was pretty nice, but we ended up taking a little different route. There are more folks than you might think showing up to the Training Camp, plenty of parking in fields that look like retaining ponds, and can easily park together... An annual Bears Training Camp Camaro Cruise sounds like a good idea.

AWESOME BBQ place right on Rt. 45 near camp is called Jimmy Jo's BBQ
http://www.myspace.com/jimmyjosbbq -- we stopped in there for a sample platter and was really good -- they smoke many of their meats for 12 hours!

Got to see the players close-up and they signed a few autographs before going under the bleachers, and they had a real nice short but sweet fireworks show at about 9:30...

My advice to anyone going, make it a fun outing, the players are kinda hard to see on the field so bring binoculars and an optical zoom camera for pics. Cell phone cameras suck in this case.

Afterwards, we ran into Kevin Shaffer http://www.chicagobears.com/team/pla...?player_id=216 and family at the Dairy Queen... The 'vert cruise back was really nice with the cool weather that rolled-in later.
