Updated with Later Arrival Time
I wanted to get this information out to the club so everyone could make their plans as early as possible. We have been invited by the Detroit 5th Gen club to join/meet-up with them on one of their events. See event information below.
EVENT DATE: September 27th
LOCATION: Gilmore Car Museum, Kalamazoo, MI
MUSEUM MEET UP TIME: 12pm Illinois (1pm Michigan)
Special parking for the group will be in front of the Diner in the grass, basically car show style for everyone else there to see our rides.
I encourage you to visit the museum's website @ http://www.gilmorecarmuseum.org/ to get a feel for what's there. It looks to be approximately 150 miles/2 ½ hours or so depending on the departure location. We can determine a meet-up location (probably east side) and time to leave from and drive up as a group. There should be enough people between the two clubs to qualify for the group rate of $10.
Description from the Gilmore Site: On a 90-acre historic campus midway between Detroit and Chicago is the Gilmore Car Museum. Here, visitors shoot the breeze in an old-fashioned gas station. Children stand inches from a 1930 Rolls-Royce that's from a Disney® movie. Grandparents share stories about a '57 Chevy, as their smiles are reflected in the car's chrome. Stroll the campus. Eat lunch in our authentic Blue Moon Diner. Walk right up to an amazing collection of over 300 vintage automobiles, motorcycles, and memories. It's America's Signature Collection. And the ultimate experience for everyone in your family.
It's looking like I'm not going to be able to go because I already have plans for that weekend, but if something changes, I will be there. I did however, want to get this out to everyone so you can make your plans. Again, it's a good opportunity to join some fellow 5th Gen people from the Motor City and talk all things Camaro and look at some amazing car history. Who doesn't like to do that?
I'll update the post with more information as it becomes available. Thanks to Angelo (lohayes4) from Detroit 5th Gen for inviting us.
Thanks for reading and post up if you're interested.
