  • Camaro 5 Fest V - Hotels Announced

The list of Hotels have been announced. There's no one large Host Hotel so not sure how well this will work. Most of the Hotels surround a Mall and from doing a little reading, sounds like the night time parking lot action will happen at the Mall.

Are we thinking we'll have a group cruise down? If so, it would be nice to all stay at the same motel. Is there a preference? Kind of early for me to say yes I'm going, but would be nice to get a room now and cancel later if I didn't go.

Motel list: Camaro 5 Fest V HOTEL LISTINGS now available - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums - Camaro5.com

Just wanted to mention it and get some thoughts. It would be a long drive as Chicago to Baytown, TX is 1100 miles.

We went ahead and booked the Comfort Inn - Free breakfast, internet, and in-room fridge/microwave.
I had also heard that there may be another brand new hotel built before the fest, so watching out for that one, too. If you've got a Choice Hotels Card, King room was $117/night

There is a Spring Hill suites right there at good prices, $89, but they are not taking reservations yet for next year. Going to try every month till than. I love spring hill, free breakfast, and points.

Not taking reservations for next year? That doesn't seem right. I just looked on their website... I could make reservations before and after that weekend, but not that weekend, seems that one is already full?

Funny, I don't see anybody on that thread mentioning the Springhill... I wonder if there's something else going on at that hotel that weekend. Most I see so far are staying at the LaQuinta that will be a Motel 6 next year.

None of these sound appealing to me. Guess my standards are too high. The Comfort Suites or Spring Hill Suites would be my two choices of the bunch. I can't believe there's no Holiday Inn of some sort in this bunch. Was hoping there would have been at least one InterContinental Hotels Group motel.

I missed Candlewood Suites on the list which is a IHG motel. May have to check with that one.

I think that new motel is going to be a Holiday Inn Express at 7515 Garth Rd.

Excellent discovery, you're right on. Looks like they're accepting reservations for after Christmas.

I did not see it at first, on the Google map, because I was zoomed in too far, and the satellite image was old. Zoom out... voila, there it is!

Maybe I'll book at both places for now.

Just to be safe, I would suggest booking a backup, in case something happens and it doesn't open on schedule... shouldn't be 5 months late, but who knows. (can always cancel close to the date of course)

Okay, so I made a reservation at this new Holiday Inn. At the bottom of the reservation, it says "Additional Charges May Apply", then says, "The following fees will be added to your total bill only if they apply....parking fee of $500.00. Yes, it says five-hundred dollars for parking.
