  • MFBA Road America Invite, April 28-29, 2012

The MFBA Road America Spring Rental dates have been set!

We'll be renting the track out the weekend of April 28'th and 29'th, 2012.

Full details and registration is available via our website:
    MFBA Track Days

All Make and Model Cars are Welcome to come out and Participate in this event!!

We have 4 run groups based on experience that get 4-5 20 min sessions
out on track each day. You will have a LOT of track time! Most people
are exhausted by the end of the day.

Instructors are available free of charge for people who would like
them, and anyone who has not been on Road America will automatically
have an instructor assigned to them.

We also offer a lunch time touring session for those that just want to
get a chance to go out on the track at slower speeds.

    Pricing..........................................W eekend..............Single Day
    Now till Feb 14th............................$395.............. .......$235
    Feb 14th to Apr 13th......................$445.................... ..$255
    Apr 13th to day of Event.................$495.....................$27 5
    Touring Session........................................... ..............$60

Many of you noticed that we pushed last years event pretty hard to
make it a success. We do plan to push this event even harder. We
anticipate that some run groups will fill up early so we strongly
    encourage per-registration.

Thanks and we hope to see you in the spring!

I will be doing full weekend as well. Its been a long time but I have driven part of this track before testing tires on corvettes and BMWs with former race car driver Scott Pruitt and Skip Barber Racing so I will do intermediate or advanced.

                  Sounds cool! IN!

A word to the wise.....those of you who have not upgraded your axles, do it before you hit the track.

My buddy who owns JDP Motorsports out in Utah went to a track day like this with 4 other 5th gens. They all came home with broken axles.....the heat build up over a 20 minute road course will destroy the grease in the OEM axle and they will break!

                  BE SMART!!!!

If you have never run RA before in any car, then register in Novice group and note on the paperwork that you haven't been on RA before. We will automatically assign an instructor to you to teach you how to run the course properly in your vehicle. Our main goal is to have a FUN and SAFE event. Road America is an unforgiving track if something happens, specially through the kink area (cement walls on both sides).

If you are unsure what group you want to run in register for the lower group and we can move you up a group if there is still space in that group that weekend. It is easier for us move people up a group then down a group if they aren't comfortable running that fast in a group. This is why Novice and Intermediate groups fill fast and we suggest folks register as soon as possible.

Also even if you have experience on the RA track and would like an instructor note that on the paperwork too so we can assign one to you too.

If I make it out.. I'll definitely be in the "Freaking New Guy" group... I've never done road course before and I don't fully trust myself (skill wise) with 560 tire power in this lead sled.. This is a totally different animal than I'm used to and somehow, I don't think my countless hours of Grand Theft Auto and Need For Speed will quite cut it for real teaching.

LOL... yeah that's why we set up the run groups the way we do. We don't want the Novice running with the Assertive folks cause it makes the new folks nervous.

We want you to get a chance to go out and have a good time and get the experience. Several of our now instructors actually started running road courses(and actual road course groups) after participating in our event because they enjoyed it so much.

One thing I would suggest is that you trailer your cars up there just in case something breaks. We do offer Friday night drop offs at the track till 7pm, then the track is locked up with security till the morning.

How many people do you have that run their DD cars there? I'm a one driver, one car person. I wouldn't be intending on pushing my car to the limits there the first event, so unless I get in to some freak condition, I wouldn't be overly worried about breaking something. Just a thought before I go an commit to something that's this far away.

1/3 to 1/2 the cars are driven up to the event and not trailered. If you don't plan on pushing it you "should" be fine. There are a lot of "DD" style cars that come out too and participate. I myself ran my stock 94 cutlass supreme (that I drove up there) on Road America a couple years while we were up there

Cool deal.. I understand the uncertainty surrounding the "should".. =) --- I accept personal responsibility if I f' something up on the car.. I'll be irritated.. but, I own it.

This is more of an event to see how I like the whole road course thing.. Always been a 1/4miler and with this 5th gen, it just seems to be more at home doing general track duty than a pure drag car. (not that it can't be done).. I like the thought of road course set up on a car because I can use more of it on the regular streets than say, Drag radials, pro-street burnouts and red light bracket racing..

I'm on the fence on a couple things and before I go and blow money one way or another, I need to see what's what.
