Doesn't the 5.0 come with shorty header and a CAI from the factory. Just leveling the playing field.
Well my car sucks, 13.1 is all I can muster. I know the autos are slower, but give a guy a 12.99 after a couple bolt ons. This is going to cost me a lot of money now.

The GT500 has the factory cai, the 5.0 just has the regular air box with psuedo cold air induction through the grill. And it also has a different manafold but its far from what you would consider a shorty header. There is no alternate collections on it, just straight through. But the big difference in my favor is my cars weight. Most of us weighed our cars at the track yesterday and my car came in at 3520 with no driver. I thought I heard Mike say his was over 3800 or someone did. Thats a significant difference.

That scale is off if yours is 3675, you mean 3875? I weighed mine at rt 66 and it was 3800 even. Mine's stick and has headers.

Mine showed 3850 with 3/4 tank of gas.. To read, you have to be out of the car -- so, that's without me in it..

I would have thought heavier due to my S/C and H/E plus all the other parts, but the switch to headers from manifolds/stock pipes saved some -- I don't know the weight diff on the PFADT solid sub bushings and trailing arms over the stockers, but those have got to be offset by the 1400HP axles which were definitely heavier than stock..

Were you in the car for 3800? I wasn't for hte 3675, add me and its 3875. I literally had 2 gallons of gas in the car, the low fuel warning was on.

Hey... I had a 1998 Mustang GT that I converted to a Steeda GT. I had the full G-Trac suspension, 285/35/18s Nittos on the low-press cast 18s from Steeda.. I had an upgraded MAF and TB, the ram air hood sealed to the air box w/ a K&N filter. New coil packs, plugs, plug wires. Under drive pulleys. 3.73 posi mods with an aftermarket carrier support for the diff.. A Hypertech chip. I think I had a timing advance kit as well.

                        I ran 14.8s at 96(ish) MPH....

But, that was the 4.6 pre-PI heads and a 4R70W Auto Trans...

So.. Trust me.. it could be worse...

Mine weighed in at 3720. Wonder if removing my subs would matter.

Nope, 3800 with out me and very low on gas. Mike was over 4k with him in it. That's usually what these cars weigh. 3850 is the listed curb weight.

4,160 with me in it at Route 66's scale.

For comparison, the same scale had my 99 Z28 at 3660 pounds with me in it.

It's pretty typical for a car to gain .1 in the quarter mile for every 100 pounds of weight shed.
