Car Wash Fundraiser to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters and The NASCAR Foundation
Joliet, Ill. — May 10, 2011 —
In an effort to help children lead happier, healthier lives, Chicagoland Speedway will unite to celebrate NASCAR Day on May 20 with the NASCAR Day Car Wash for Kids. Chicagoland Speedway will join more than 20 locations stretching from Concord, N.C. to Fontana, Calif. uniting for the NASCAR Day Car Wash for Kids.
Chicagoland Speedway’s Car Wash for Kids event will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. located in the infield off Laraway Road (enter through Gate 5). For a $10 donation, attendees will receive a car wash, photo of their car in Gatorade Victory Lane and a NASCAR Unites wristband.
"Chicagoland Speedway is proud to be a part of NASCAR Day," said Scott Paddock, President of Chicagoland Speedway & Route 66 Raceway. "In our continued commitment to give back to the local community we are a part of, we’re honored to be partnering with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Will and Grundy Counties. We encourage all our fans and local residents to come out, experience our terrific venue and participate in a worthwhile cause that provides support to our local charitable organizations."
Funds raised through the NASCAR Day Car Wash for Kids event will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters and The NASCAR Foundation. As a proud United Way member agency, Big Brothers Big Sisters is a donor & volunteer-supported organization proven to help at-risk children of single, low-income and/or incarcerated parents, succeed through one-to-one mentoring relationships. Big Brothers Big Sisters is successful in mentoring relationships for all children who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better schools, and stronger communities for all. The NASCAR Foundation is committed to children’s causes and, through the NASCAR Unites campaign, has vowed to raise $1 million and generate 1 million volunteer hours in 2011.

To date NASCAR Day has raised more than $8 million for The NASCAR Foundation, sent more than 500 kids to Victory Junction, treated more than 19,000 pediatric patients annually at Speediatrics units and granted more than 500 NASCAR-themed wishes.
Turtle Wax has partnered with Chicagoland Speedway for NASCAR Day Car Wash for Kids to provide car wash and waxes which are used at Turtle Wax Car Wash Center’s six Chicagoland locations.
