The date is SET-- MAY 21st. I apologize about the dates in the poll, it turns out the track has an event already scheduled for the 14th. Check the OP for more details.

Also, just so everyone is aware, the purpose of pre-registering is to see if we can obtain enough Camaro's to make this an exclusive track day. If we do not get AT LEAST 50 Camaro's by May 7th, we will have to open it up to townies and anyone else who wants to come.

So how many do you have right now? I'm playing on making it to Ted's and possibly cruise over to Havana, but not sure about the track thing. Mine is bone stock so I have nothing to show off on a run. When you say two runs, are you running against someone? I'm new at this drag thing.......can you tell?

Looking for some clarification for a new guy. Maybe there's someone else out there that doesn't know a thing about it besides me. I've never taken a car down a strip before. But, I have stayed at a Holiday Inn!

FYI - I was looking at the forum Calendar and noticed this event is not on there.

Yes, it will be down the track side-by-side with someone. You don't need to have anything fast or fancy to go down the track and win either! The person in the other lane may spin the tires, get loose and have to back off, etc. Drag racing is a sport where it is anyones game! There are a few guys out there who are going to be there to be the fastest and win everything, but for the most part, its just for the thrill! I say take it down the track and have a blast! I am considering taking my POS Crown Vic down it! I'm still not sure... It'll prolly break on me if I do... There is so much wrong with it, I don't trust it to last! lol

The event is just over a month away. Time to start making a decision! You KNOW you want to take a nice little cruise down to Central IL!

fastfreddie, don't worry about never racing before. You'll do it once and get hooked. Even bone stock you're going to love it. Its one of the only places to legally hit triple digits and get to see what our cars can really do. The other guys racing will not care about your times, or what mods you have. If anything, everyone is really supportive and will give you ideas on how to run a better time. Leave the wax and towels at home and go see how fast your car can go instead.

Dave, what do we do to pre-register, other than telling you that we're attending?
