Lotus Corps car club is having a Track Day on May 16th at Blackhawk Farms Raceway. A friend's father is a member and passed this along to me. It seems newbie friendly so I'm going to give it a shot. Check it out if you're interested. I will be there!

Drivers Education Track Day

Please join us for our ninth Track Day at Blackhawk Farms Raceway in Rockton Illinois.
You’ll be able to:
Drive your car closer to its limits
Hone your skills at one of the best
tracks in the Midwest
Learn how to drive fast SAFELY
Enjoy the company of other sports car

For whom is this event intended?
This is a day for all levels of driver skill. Depending upon experience, you will be placed in one of
three groups, created to fit the Daring First Timers (Green Group), the Middle of the Laners (Yellow
Group), and the Fully Prep’d Drivers (Red Group). In-car and classroom instruction will be provided.
Our Chief Instructor this year is once again Mr. Phill Miller!
Green Group – Drivers with little or no track experience, all convertibles without a roll bar.
Yellow Group – Moderately experienced drivers who have attended several Driving Schools or other
track events.
Red Group – Very experienced drivers who have attended many Driving Schools, track events, or
with race experience.
What do I need to bring?
Make of car does not matter. You can come with your Daily Driver OR with your Sports Car. As long
as the vehicle passes the Tech Inspection, you will be allowed to run.
The minimum safety equipment that is required is:
Helmet with a Snell SA rating of 1990 or later – No motorcycle helmets allowed.
Long sleeve shirt made of cotton or fire resistant fabric.
Pants made of cotton or fire resistant fabric.
You are encouraged to bring any other safety apparel you have!
Most importantly, bring a good attitude. This is an Educational Event - not a race, not a time
trial, not a competition. You will get plenty of track time.
The Bottom Line _____________
All of this will cost between $195 and $210 per driver if you register by March 16th. The cost will
increase by $35 after March 16th. Please note that Blackhawk Farms charges $10 per person for entry to
the facility. This is included in the driver fee, but any guests or crew members will be additional. The
concession stand will be open for Breakfast and Lunch. Registration is limited, and spaces will fill fast,
so don’t delay!
Is this too much? Does FREE sound better?
We are looking for volunteers to help work the corner stations or to assist with other activities at the
track. This is a great way to begin your track experience, AND you will receive FREE touring laps on the
track at lunchtime. If you don’t wish to be a volunteer, but would still enjoy Lunchtime Touring, you may
register at a cost of $50.
All entrants, including those who are only participating in touring, should fill out
the registration form on the next page and check the appropriate boxes.
