That's so bogus. I'm union, but those guys in Rosemont are ridiculous! And lazy! I've delivered to the Expo before and was there half a day unloading a truck while the union guys there just stood around. If you want to know what's wrong with the city, this is one of those things. And I still haven't received my letter, but it has to be forwarded to my new address. I'm thinking I'll get it tomorrow. Post office was closed today.

My location is 1814 which we all should be grouped together by booth numbers. I didn't get charged by anybody for setting up my own stuff. I even had more gas in my tank and Garrett and I didn't disconnect our batteries either. So don't get too freaked out. Did you want to meet for lunch on Sunday at The Brick House?sigpic

I think we should check with Marc our treasurer to see if it is in our budget to buy some stanchions and chain. I am sure this is something in the future we will be doing more often.Checkout our full line of 5th Gen Camaro Underhood Accessories.

Keep in mind that we are NOT a Vendor and most of the rules applying to union set up ect are designed to stop vendors from setting up their own BOOTHS, which is a no-no.
The more we look like a vendor the more we are going to draw attention to ourselves by the union to set up are alleged booth. We need to get our cars set up each ourselves first and foremost. As the Rules state, once you are allowed entry you are on your own for your own set up. After we get our cars set up each then we can figure out where we want the table. The electric I think is going to be the problem on the table, thats going to cost probably
I have been looking into stanchions on the Internet for a week now, The cheapest ones appear to be the plastic ones with the plastic chains. The Chains are cheap, the Stanchions are a bit pricey and you will need three for each side of the car, six total.
I will be bringing my own Stanchions probably.
I am more concerned about the electric situation which I was going to make some calls on tomorrow, I need DC Power to my car, I cant disconnect the DC Power from my battery. I have a battery tender about the size of a 1/2 carton of cigarettes that I will need to plug in to an ac outlet, if thats a problem with them then I got a problem. I had heard there was a cost to have electric hookup, is that the $190 an hour for stanard electric dropp?
I will make some call tomorrow and try and get some answers to some of these questions and post it.Last edited by Lawdog; 02-22-2011, 01:11 AM.

Let us know what is going on because I think we should all have the same thing. Sunday is good for us. Which one, Niles or Downers Grove? Time? We also need to remember that they have to be low enough for the judges to get in to the display to judge us.Last edited by KATHY63; 02-22-2011, 06:39 AM.

I sent a message to all board members regarding expensing materials.
Ted, and all are we allowed to bring our own materials from outside for our display. (Stands and Chain) if so we can use this year after year.
Does anyone know what it will cost to put stands and chain around all of the cars?
I personally think this would be a great way to get our clubs name out there. Especially during the start of the season.
The decision to expense materials like this is up to the board. I will see what they decide.

Yes we can bring our own materials to set up. If someone can talk Garrett, I believe he rented his stands and chain. The chain that I can get is 2" plastic links which I can purchase from my store for 10% over cost.Attached Filessigpic

Dave said that he can make stands that will look nice in about a day. We are going to look at materials and how much it will cost today. She said that we can bring our own. We looked at mcacn pictures from last year to get some ideas on what people are using. There are a lot of variences from chain to rope even. It just has to be accessable to the judges. Dave has known the guy for years and he said that is a problem sometimes. Getting to the cars without knocking over the stands. That would be great if Ted can get the chain.

I am ordering electric hookup to my spot, it allows for 1000 wat draw. therefore, we should have plenty of power for what Dan needs for the table computer, tv. I advised Marc that the cost is 190. I will pay one half the cost since I need electric for my battery tender, the club will reimburse me for the other half and be able to set the table up presumably close to the electric dropp location.

Do we have a count of how many cars we are going to have? Because I can check to see if I can get more stands like I had last year. One of my account handles the set up at McCormick Place.sigpic

Well that would be fantastic cause these things are not cheap to rent or buy and I think it would be too much of an expense for Th club to buy enough for all of us, even the cheap ones are 89 for four of them at the best price that I have found so far.
