  • Im using my hood shock banner from C5G that I bought from Tony No, I have one extra that someone can borrow from me. I think we all should have one, that would look nice, but its up to each of you of course.

    • We would like to borrow it if possible. We are not sure we can have anything with the club name on it. I know we can't pass out cards or anything to try to get more members.
In the Windy city club challenge rules that I picked up in orland, it does say that club identity must be on display. So a banner would be good, but it also says no taping or attaching of display materials to any part of building. If we get a banner we will have to bring stands of some sort for it I think. Dave will try to post this letter later.

      • Yes you cannot pass anything out that is true and you can't put anything on their building that is also true but you can have the names of your sponsors that did work on your car in your car display info, ect. So I'm not making a big deal out of it I'm just putting it on. Let's not draw attention to the issue with them.

        • While you can't pass anything out, if info/cards/pamphlets were laying around for folks to pick up if they wanted it that wouldn't be against the rules would it?

I know everyone will have some sort of barrier around their cars but I wanted to offer these up to be printed out as a just in case. I have reduced the size of these but I do have some larger ones.

Also, will those of us that aren't in the show be able to get discount tix since our club is in the show?

The drag strip is like sniffing glue, it's cheap, it's a decent buzz, it doesn't last long and they are all the same.
Road racing is like China White Heroin, the buzz is stronger, the high lasts for hours, it's extremely addictive and they are all different.
I can't wait for my Track next fix.

          • I'm going to go talk to Xtreme about making us a 6 ft. banner we can attach to the club folding table. Bill, can you still bring a TV we can show photos on. Tony was going to get a bunch of pics from events put on a jump drive, other wise we can use an extra computer monitor I have. I plan on putting cards on the table, that's not passing them out right?

              • I thinks you can buy discount tickets at Oreilly's parts stores. Thanks for the signs but our printer is being a pain. About the club cards, I would suggest bringing them and see what other groups are doing and go from there. I'm not to sure about the tv either.

                • If you need a small flat screen for the table I got it and will bring it, 30 inch on its own stand. Its got a standard PC In plug , HDMI Plug, Componet Plug, SVideo Plug and standard RCA Video input Plug, Coaxial plug, so whatever you want to use it with It will work. a

                  • Do we need to try to get together either this week or this weekend to make sure we are all on the same page about what we are doing with our car, etc.? About 4 on Saturday would be better for us and anytime Sunday.

                      • Sunday is better for us also. Where and When? I have a call in about the stanchions. She is double chicking prices for me and will call me later with them. They have a number of different ones available. The most economical are the white chains which are six feet long which is $6 every 6' and the stands she thought are $12.50 each. She believes we have 200 square feet available to us. Is everyones location 1816? I will get back to everyone tonight.

                        • We need to know by WEDNESDAY if we want the velour stantions. They cost $15 for every 6' and each stand is $40. If we want the retractable kind they are $90 each and are also 6' long. They need to know by FRIDAY if we want the retractables. They are not using the chain because it is in too bad of shape. If we make and bring our own, we still have to pay a decorator $92.50/hr. for one guy. That is straight pay for Thursday. On Sunday it will cost $177.50/hr for one guy to come and take it down. She thought it cost $190/hr for a standard electric drop. Both types are 3' tall.

                          • What a scam they have, I can get white plastic chain. One roll is 125' which should do 2 cars and it only costs me about $70 for the entire roll and we can keep it. As for the stantions, I can get chrome ones no charge but I don't know if I can get them for everybody. I used them last year with me own chain and didn't have to pay anyone. I also have a 10' x20' black rug that I used last too that I am using this year.

                            • Most defiately a HUGE scam. She said we can try to do it ourselves and make our own but if they catch us putting it up they can stop us. Dave says that we could do our own also. I don't think he has time to make them because I know he could. He's still trying to finish our camaro, then we had our 2 trucks break down, and now we also have some family things going on, so I'm not going to promise him to do anything. Because we are a club I think we are supposed to be the same. Are we roping off each car indiviually or keeping us as a group. I even asked if we could bring our own chain and use their stands but she was pretty sure we would have to pay someone there to set them up still.
