Came across a cool site tonight. There's a track in south haven michigan that is rentable, or has open racing days (150/day, or 4-5k to rent the track for a sat or sunday). One of the requirements is to have track experience, which if your like myself you may not have. Not to worry, they have a driving school that looks to operate about once a month. The school was 225 for the day, and you'll have instruction in the class room, lunch, and 1 hour and 20 minutes on the track in 6 20 minute increments. Might be a fun group day. And if we could get 30-40 people maybe reasonable to have a track day there. I know I am going to make it a goal to do the school in 2011. Here's links to the track and school.

    Gingerman Raceway, Ltd.

    CGI Motorsports

A note on the track itself, called gingerman raceway. Owned by a chicago guy who has a bar near wrigley. I believe it was featured in the color of money (there was a story in one of the auto mags about the owner). He's a car nut and had enough coin to build his own track.
