Yeah, I'm not here to say I hate classic cars - it's not true. I LOVE classics. Without them, we wouldn't have the modern cars that imitate them. That said, it doesn't mean we don't put as much care and attention in our cars that they do. In some cases even more. I go to shows and cruise nights because I love looking at all the cars, and I like showing mine off. I don't ever go to show EXPECTING to win. I've won 4 times, and every time, it's been like really? There's better cars than mine...Not that it's not appreciated, definitely puts a smile on my face that they thought it was nice enough of a beater to get an award.
I just don't think that shows should be broken up in a Classics to Modern ratio of 10:1. Just because they're classics doesn't mean they deserve an award. They deserve an award when they have put the time and effort and love into their cars - That Nomad for instance that took best of show. HE DESERVED IT. That thing was amazing. That said, Ted's car, I've always loved. He puts a lot into that, and its beautiful. There were plenty others out there, that I think really deserved wins, and came out with nothing because they didn't have a Classic car. Don, I'm looking your direction there buddy - your Vette is awesome.
