Car Charities

Does anyone know of any car themed or related charities? I want to make a donation in honor of a friend's father who recently passed away. He was a collector/enthusiast. I've gotten a few suggestions, but one that I thought was perfect doesn't accept donations (only volunteer mechanical service and unfortunately I'm not qualified). Google only nets me those donate your car places. Any ideas?

I had also heard of one that "older" generations teach kids how to work on cars, that would have been perfect too, but I can't remember the name.

Proviso East High School in Maywood ran an article that they were looking for car donations for their auto repair dept. in 2015

Also, I went to a car show down south several years ago and I cant seem to remember the name of the high school, It was south suburb and it had like a ten car Garage with lifts and I was impressed how big the program was. If I remember the name I will check back. Check out Shorewood high School for some reason I am thinking that might have been the one.

Streamwood High School has an auto program and runs a car show every year also

There is a Downs Syndrome group who runs a car show at Fudruckers in Schaumburg. Their org is called UPS for Downs.

St Charles east h.s in 2015 held one I think it was there auto shop class that did it
